Happy, healthy festival people
Medic!
Festivals aren't great places to twist an ankle, come down with a bug, or have a baby (What!? It happens). To deal with this, all festivals have some degree of medical support, with all the big ones offering help 24-7. Medical centres will be marked clearly on your site map. If you see someone else obviously in need of attention, try and alert a steward or member of the police.
Keep smiling
Being in a big field with tens of thousands of strangers can sometimes get you down. If you find yourself having a miserable time, don't bottle it up - there are people to talk to. All the big festivals have helpful welfare staff on site 24-7 who will try and sort out your problems. Those ever-listening Samaritans are also present with a tent and tea at most festivals.
Unhappy pills
If you find yourself suffering from a bad drug experience, either while on the drugs or afterwards, seek some help. Most festivals have fully trained drug councillors on site who you can talk to. If you see someone else obviously having a bad time, get hold of a steward for help.
Sun is shining
Obvious stuff, but some people still ignore it. Pack your sun block - at least factor 15 please people - and use it.
Coming in from the cold
Pack warm clothes - you should know by now you can't rely on the English summer. If you find yourself freezing cold with nowhere to turn, most festivals have welfare staff who can help you out with silver space blankets etc., which help add to your festival fashion vibe too.
Eating isn't cheating
Contrary to the caner philosophy, going three days without swallowing any food isn't particularly sensible. Find time to eat, even if it is a dodgy falafel.
