Snowbombing
What: Snowboarding and all-night parties. Entertainment-only passes for the week cost £129.

The Big Chill Goa
What: The Big Chill gets in on the Indian Summer and helps Goa in their quest to banish trance.
Where: Right next to the beach in Aswen, North Goa.
When: 14th - 15th April.
Line-up: Cold Cut, Norman Jay, Hexstatic and so many more will be helping you enjoy the sunshine.
Camping: This is not a camping festival but accommodation in the area is pretty cheap, so why not make the festival part of a longer holiday?
Extras: You need a visa or you cannot go.
Sonar Festival
What: This "International festival of advanced music and multimedia art" is a cutting-edge electronic and techno festival. 13 years-old this year, it is held in museums and art centres by day and clubs by night, it oozes cool from every polyphonic pore.
Where: Barcelona, Spain
When: 14th - 16th June
Line-up: A mixed bunch including Beastie Boys, Dizzie Rascal, Cornelius, the New Young Pony Club and many more.
Roskilde Festival
What: A Danish Glastonbury, Roskilde became infamous when eight fans were trampled to death and 26 others were injured during a Pearl Jam set in 2000. Since then, festival organisers have strived to place greater emphasis on safety and security.
Where: Denmark
When: 5th - 8th July
Line-up: The line-up includes Bjork, Beastie Boys, CSS, Holly Golightly, and Muse.
The Summer Jam
What: The biggest Reggae event in Europe presenting more than 250 artists, including dancehall and world music performers.
Where: It's a 72-hour party on the banks of Lake Fuehlinger, Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
When: 6th - 8th July
Line-up: Beenie Man, The Roots and The Slackers.
Benicassim
What: A week-long rock festival, with extras such as a backstage swimming pool. Plus there's a go-kart track and water park nearby.
Where: Costa Azahar, Spain
When: 19th - 22nd July
Line-up: Artic Monkeys, The B52s, Iggy & The Stooges and Muse.
Burning Man Desert Festival
What: The event is named after the 40 foot 'man' that gets set alight on the Saturday night. A temporary community forms to get creative and party. Each year, a theme is chosen for featured works of art and performance. Past themes have included Time, Hell, Outer Space, The Body and Vault of Heaven. This year's theme is "The Green Man".
